2016 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Pleasant Home finished the 2015 season with a disappointing 1-9 record. Last year Pleasant Home finished sixth in Class 1A region two with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The defense allowed a team record 418 points last season. Pleasant Home was inconsistent offensively last year and that needs to pick up if the Eagles want to be competitive. They only averaged 18.6 points a game. Pleasant Home struggled on the defensive side of the football last year. The defense found little success in stopping opposing offenses as they gave up an average of 41.8 points a game. The Eagles would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 1-19 record. Since 2010, Pleasant Home has gone a combined 20-43. Their 32.0% winning percentage ranks 43rd in Class 1A over the past six seasons. Over the past 16 seasons, Pleasant Home has not won much with a record of 54-109. Their 33.0% winning percentage ranks 49th in Class 1A and 331st in the AHSAA. The Eagles have struggled on the football field with only three winning seasons during this time. The Eagles are led by head coach Chris Mason who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 1-19 over the past two seasons at Pleasant Home. The Eagles have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Mason. Coach Mason's overall record as a head football coach in two season stands at 1-19 (5.0%). The Pleasant Home Eagles will play in Class 1A region two during the 2016 season. It will be an uphill battle for the Eagles if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region two this season. After just a single win last year, Pleasant Home will be hopeful of winning a few more games this season. The Eagles open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Fruitdale on Friday, August 26 at Indians Stadium. Last year the Fruitdale Pirates finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in fifth place in Class 1A region one. The Pirates closed out the regular season with a loss to Red Level by a score of 38-26. Pleasant Home and Fruitdale have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Eagles have a 2-0-0 record against the Pirates. They last met in with | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
